Client Profile: Aladdin’s Restaurant

Established in 2006, Aladdin’s Restaurant is full of Mediterranean culture and flair. Owner, Alexandre Borkhoche takes pride in representing his Lebanese heritage, decorating the entire restaurant on his own. From the table cloths to the window treatments, you get a great taste of Lebanese culture. Located in West Reading, Alexandre saw a lack of fresh and healthy food options in the area. He was referred to Community First Fund for financing to purchase an old Getty Station and renovated it to fit his vision. A year later, his restaurant opened with a focus on serving quality food that was made from scratch.

 Aladdins Real

Aladdin’s Restaurant is more than just a place to eat, it is an experience. Every Friday you can find entertainment in the form of belly dancing and the staff is trained in the traditions of Lebanon. Alexandre stresses the importance of positive interactions between clients and staff. Each customer is treated as a friend and guests are often greeted by first name. Alexandre is very active in the community and says, “You won’t get anywhere without taking risks and having a vision.”

Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Wrap Up

Liz Martin adresseing the audience

The Women’s Business Center of Community First Fund’s inaugural Entrepreneurial Speaker Series was a big success.  Over 30 people attended to listen to speaker Liz Martin, owner of Martin Insurance.  The event was focused on the topic of “Networking to Build Your Business”.  Liz Martin shared her experiences stressing the importance of networking in the business world and in everyday life.  An open discussion then formulated with others sharing their views on networking, and how it has affected their lives.  This FREE bimonthly speaker series will be taking place again in the months of May and July.  They will be held once again at the Community First Fund building located in Lancaster.  Check our website for updates on future speakers, times, and topics.
