Walter now rents out the upper floors at affordable rates, and has since discovered his knack for housing rehabilitation. Before Walter began investing in the area, his neighborhood had been in deterioration.

Through various loans, Walter has been able to rehabilitate a number of properties in York and offer them for sale or to let. Community First Fund’s financing not only helped Walter’s barber shop business but also enabled him to expand his other business endeavors and helped Walter to enrich his community. Now Walter has a stable business and cash flow so that he may continue to develop and contribute to his own neighborhood with occassional backings from Community First Fund.
