Michael & Michele Stauffer

Ric’s Bread, Lancaster City

$50,000 loan

BAKING THEIR WAY INTO THE HEARTS OF LOCALS AND VISITORS ALIKE.

Established in 1990, the business has since changed hands and is now run by Michael and Michelle Stauffer. They work full time at the business putting in long hours. The business has a total of six employees, four of which are bakers. Ric’s Bread was in need of working capital and equipment in order to continue the business. Community First Fund saw this as a venture that enhanced the area of downtown Lancaster and could not be lost.

The bakery provides high quality artisan breads and pastries, made daily for customers. Ric’s Bread also is a supplier of several high quality local restaurants. They supply to six different restaurants and that list is continuing to grow. Besides its breads the bakery also offers quality food, ranging from soups, salads, wraps, and sandwiches at affordable prices. They are also positioned in Lancaster’s Central Market, selling their products. They are continuing to look to enter other local markets, recently acquiring a market stand in an outdoor location in Downtown Philadelphia.
