Client Chronicles

Alexandre Borkhoche

Aladdin’s Restaurant, Berks County
$15,000 loan

Alexandre BorkhocheESTABLISHED IN 2006, ALADDIN’S RESTAURANT IS FULL OF MEDITERRANEAN CULTURE AND FLAIR.

Owner, Alexandre Borkhoche takes pride in representing his Lebanese heritage, decorating the entire restaurant on his own. From the table cloths to the window treatments, you get a great taste of Lebanese culture. Located in West Reading, Alexandre saw a lack of fresh and healthy food options in the area. He was referred to Community First Fund for financing to purchase an old Getty Station and renovated it to fit his vision. A year later, his restaurant opened with a focus on serving quality food that was made from scratch.

Aladdin’s Restaurant is more than just a place to eat, it is an experience. Every Friday you can find entertainment in the form of belly dancing and the staff is trained in the traditions of Lebanon. Alexandre stresses the importance of positive interactions between clients and staff. Each customer is treated as a friend and guests are often greeted by first name. Alexandre is very active in the community and says, “You won’t get anywhere without taking risks and having a vision.”
